We're getting ready for our long-awaited cruise through the Maritimes and Quebec.
We're at that funny stage of getting ready for a trip--checking and rechecking all the important documents, deciding what goes and what stays home, making sure everything on the home front is ready to be left behind. That's not the fun part, of course, but it comes tinged with the anticipation of new places and new people and new discoveries.
On Monday, we will fly east for a week of pre-cruise explorations and reacquaintance with Boston and Cape Cod. We haven't been there for awhile, so it will be fun to revisit some old favorites and discover some new places.
After getting ourselves into a thoroughly New England frame of mind, we'll meet up with our Road Scholar tour in Boston on September 17 and embark on our cruise the next day. Cruising will be a new experience for us, and the bulk of the territory we will be cruising through will be new to us as well.
In 6th grade, I wrote a geography report on Nova Scotia. There've been a few years in between then and now, but I'm finally going to visit it. So when I said "long-awaited," I wasn't kidding!
Bon voyage! Have a wonderful trip!
